The colors were there. Visible flames made the phoenix unmistakable.

The first reading

Sola’s first illustration had copper feathers, a sweeping tail and a dark fitted coat. It gave her a clear birdlike silhouette and an elegant presence. The feedback was direct: the phoenix needed more fire.

Put fire into the design

The selected revision adds visible flames to the crest, wings and tail. Bright gold edges, curling tongues of flame and warm reflected light make the change easy to see. The fire follows existing feather shapes, while the face and dark outfit stay readable.

A visual decision

The posture, clothing and harbor setting keep the two versions easy to compare. This is a look at fantasy character design using retained AI-assisted illustrations. It does not establish heat, rebirth, immunity or a new gameplay power.

Episode transcript

Sola had the feathers and the colors. But she needed to feel like a phoenix.

The first design was warm and elegant, with very little visible fire.

So we added flames to her crest, wings and sweeping tail.

The outfit stayed readable. The phoenix finally came through.

Dawn Runner echoes Sola’s phoenix silhouette in midnight blue panels and copper feather shapes.

The design includes a guarded rear channel for her tail. Feather details frame the catcher without blocking the bowl.

Here is the released pairing in Rush. Choose any pilot, catcher and paint. Same catch area. Same handling.
